What VEXIS keeps, and what it never does.

VEXIS checks whether a new member is a second account of someone already in a server, or someone who was banned. Here's exactly what that takes, in plain words.

Last updated 1 November 2026

The short version

  • We never save your IP address. Not in our database, not in our logs.
  • We don't see your email, your messages, your friends or the other servers you're in.
  • What we do keep is deleted automatically after 30 days, unless the server picked a different period.
  • You can delete your record anytime with /vexis forget.

What happens when you verify

You press Verify in the server and the VEXIS bot gives you a private link. The link tells us your Discord ID (the number that identifies your account) and nothing else. It only works for you, for 15 minutes, once.

The page shows a quick security check from Cloudflare (Turnstile) to make sure you're a person, not a bot. We also check whether you're connecting through a VPN, proxy or Tor. If you are, we ask you to turn it off and try again, and the server's moderators are told that someone tried with a VPN. We never tell them your IP address.

Then your browser tells us about your device (things like screen size and browser type), and our server sees the internet connection you're using, as every website does. We immediately turn each of these into a scrambled code using a secret key only VEXIS has. The original details are thrown away on the spot.

The code lets us tell if the same device or connection shows up again in the same server, but nobody can turn it back into your IP address or device details. Codes are different in every server, so your accounts can't be linked across servers either.

What we keep

  • Your Discord ID and the server you verified in.
  • The two scrambled codes, one for your device and one for your connection.
  • Whether you passed, and what the server's rules did (for example "held for review").
  • When you verified, and when your record will be deleted.

What we never keep

  • IP addresses
  • Your location
  • Your email address
  • Your messages or anything you post
  • Your raw device details

Who sees what

Moderators of the server see the result in their log channel: that you were verified, or that your account looks linked to another member, or that you were asked to turn off a VPN. They never see your codes, your IP address or your device details. We don't sell your information to anyone.

How long we keep it

Records are deleted automatically after 30 days. Server owners can choose anything from 1 to 365 days, and the verify page always shows the period that applies to you.

One exception: if a server bans you, the server keeps your two codes on its blocklist so it can stop you coming back on a new account. They stay until you're unbanned, and then they're deleted.

Your choices

  • Run /vexis forget in a server to delete your record there straight away. Moderators are told that you did.
  • Don't want to be checked? Don't tick the box. You won't be able to verify in that server.

The companies we rely on

VEXIS runs on a hosting provider and a database provider. Like any website, our hosting provider may see your IP address briefly to deliver the page to you, under its own privacy policy. VEXIS itself never stores it.

Cloudflare Turnstile runs the security check in your browser and sees what any website it loads in would see, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

To spot VPNs we first compare your IP address with public lists of VPN and Tor addresses, on our own server. Only if those lists don't match do we ask proxycheck.io whether your IP address belongs to a VPN or proxy. We send them your IP address and nothing else: no Discord ID, no server, no codes. They answer yes or no, and we keep neither the address nor the answer.
